CrunchBang Linux 11 R20120806 – Outstanding Linux Distro
by Lanh on March 2, 2013
“Updated ‘Waldorf’ images are available now. A good few months have passed since the initial ‘Waldorf’ images were made available and during this time I received lots and lots of comments, suggests and bug reports. I have done my best to work my way through this feedback and make the necessary changes to improve Waldorf’s out-of-the-box experience. What’s changed: ARandR has replaced grandr as the default tool to help with configuring multi-screen set-ups; a new GUI app has been developed to help configure the login manager; an additional 486 image has been made available for use on PCs with a single processor not supporting PAE. crunchbanglinux.org – Home Page

Distrowatch says one size the CrunchBang website & it says 64-bit Stable Approx. Size: 643M, 64-bit Stable + Backports Approx. Size: 653M. This is still 200Mbs more than the last time I downloaded CrunchBang.

Whether or not to drop the 700MB cap is being polled. Everyone should go onto the blog and vote!

I hope the current issues will be addressed properly. #! 10 BPO is my primary OS and I love it.

That slow start from thunar is a known bug, its fixed in the newsest has the fix. Also the only guy that is working on it is canonical. Yeah I don’t know why it has libre office and abiword. The problems I have with it are old software (you can change to testing or unstable), and having to manually configure openbox. Otherwise, I love me some crunchbang, its what I’v been using on my netbook.

Isn’t it from the stable?

Great review Icy but Crunchbang is now too bloated. You are absolutely correct Abiword and Libreoffice that is strange.
No longer has text installer doesn’t work for me. Debian and Slackware for me.

Hotmail is changing.. Take a look at outlook dot com for a sneak peak at what it will look like. You can sign in using your hotmail login info. I love #! but Ubuntu 12.04 just edges it out.
